As discussed in my SHIFT-IT e-Zine I’ve decided to offer a special ‘visual practitioner’ mastermind this season — the first of what will perhaps become an annual offering.

This mastermind provides specialized, high-quality support for process professionals serious about integrating interactive-visual skills into their practices. I define ‘process professionals’ as scribes/recorders, facilitators, trainers, coaches and the like.

This one-of-a-kind experience is for people looking for an ADVANCED level of support in developing their visual practices … it is NOT for complete beginners (i.e. it is for process professionals who have already taken my Fundamentals of Interactive-Visuals … or have equivalent experience through other means).

What a Mastermind Is:

I’ve run and also participated in Masterminds for years – they are a key component in my own success.

A ‘mastermind’ is a cohesive, tight group of people who support one another in their goals and development.

Usually the most successful masterminds are limited in number. I have decided to limit The Magic Marker Mastermind to just 12 participants.

The best masterminds also have a specific focus or specialty topic … i.e. the people in them are united in some way. In the case of this mastermind, members are united in your attraction to the visual way of working and your commitment to forming or enhancing your livelihood around this exciting and productive methodology.

The Benefits of Being in This Mastermind:

Who This Mastermind Is For:

This mastermind is for process professionals who have already taken basic, beginner level interactive-visuals instruction at some point (ala my Fundamentals of Interactive-Visuals course or equivalent experience through other means) … and are ready for your next level of skill and business development.

It is for interests across the full-spectrum of visual work … visual scribes/recorders, visual facilitators, visual coaches … and the like (read article “Definitions: Four Ways to Work Visually”). Any process professionals who are keen to improve your work in visual meetings, conferences, classes, counselling, etc.

Given the collaborative manner in which I facilitate my groups … you are comfortable with small group interaction (over the web and in-person) and value being able to noodle, schmooze and share with fellow visual geeks.

Who This Mastermind Is Not For:

This mastermind is not for complete beginners (suddenly there are a plethora of beginning graphic recording / visual facilitation courses being offered … some dubious and some great). I’ll only admit people who can demonstrate some visual acumen and understanding already with a great enthusiasm for developing more. You don’t have to be perfect (nobody is) but you do have to be trying to up-level yourself.

The Mastermind includes a 2-day retreat in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada — and as such we need your commitment to attend. Please do not apply if you are not willing to travel to meet in person. Travel and accommodation expenses are additional. Please recognize that you may need a passport to enter the country … so make arrangements ahead of time to avoid disappointments.

The investment for this program is what I charge clients for one day of my facilitation time … as such it is a very fair fee for what your return on investment (ROI) is, should you conduct yourself in good faith. I regularly coach mentees in developing businesses in the $50-100K … to $300K and beyond depending on their skills and client circles (corporate, governmental, and not-for-profit). Please do not apply if the investment feels like a financial strain to you or you feel it’s a high rate (its not … and I prefer to work with folks who know and respect the value of what I am offering). Payment plans are legal contracts and may extend beyond the length of the program … it is expected that students will honour their financial agreements in a manner befitting a professional.

At times, participants may share confidential or proprietary information. It is assumed that you will honour expressed boundaries in an ethical spirit.

As a pioneering ‘visual coach’, I facilitate powerful awakening in individuals, partners and conscious businesses and am an internationally recognized coach of coaches.

Known for my innovative visual methods and progressive mindset, my work juxtaposes my childhood love of doodling and drawing with a fascinating background in organizational and personal growth.

With a Masters Degree in Organizational Development & Transformation (ODT), I began my career in the San Francisco Bay area traveling extensively throughout North America and Europe (first as an employee of The Grove Consultants International (pioneering Group Graphics firm led by David Sibbet) … then via my own independent practices).

I honed my skills in strategic planning and visioning working for such notable clients as Hewlett-Packard, eBay, Stanford University, British Broadcast Corp (BBC), The Institute for the Future and The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, American Institute of CPAs, eBay, etc.

Concurrent to corporate consulting I experienced a quickening of my spiritual path in the aftermath of the Sept. 11th tragedy (being scheduled to be in New York that fated day but rescheduled due to a synchronistic event). I transformed my work to include integration of the visual methodology with coaching and spirituality – returning to my lovely hometown of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada in 2003 and creating SHIFT-IT Coach, Inc.

Inspirationally received, my SHIFT-IT System (comprised of 17 visual coaching tools) helps you discover and align with what you really want in work and life. Through private coaching, mastermind groups and my popular Certified Visual Coach and Interactive-Visuals programs I mentor scribes, facilitators, coaches, therapists and consultants from around the world on how to use visual thinking methods with their own clients.
